The vocational outcomes for this qualification develops and extends the basic outlines of evidence gathering, and court requirements in the LEOP program. The program equips students with defined format for investigation, the use of interviewing techniques, and the explanation of the legal requirements under which interviews are carried out. The program also introduces the student to additional information gathering techniques such as the use of intelligence, differences between witness, victim and offender statements and interviews, exhibit retention and continuity. The program provides an outline for the prosecution of offences in association with the brief handling functions for such a prosecution. This program is designed for staff who are or will be involved in prolonged enquiries or complex investigations, internal or external to their organisation.
